Abstract: The aim of this work is to investigates the role of natural convection and entropy generation in a square cavity with rectangular heating cylinder. Finite volume method was used to solve in the presented model. Design parameters used in this numerical study are the position and orientation of rectangular block. A wide range of parameters such as the Rayleigh number (〖10〗^3≤Ra≤ 〖10〗^6), volume fraction (0 ≤φ≤ 0.05) and nanoparticles sizes (25 nm≤ d_p ≤145 nm) are chosen for investigation.
